ANIL K. SINHA

Mr. Anil Kumar Sinha, Advocate and Lead Partner at SVLC, is in the profession since 1983 and since then he has been involved in the areas of Company Law matters, Foreign Investments, Contracts and Commercial Arbitrations, Taxation, Banking, Insurance, Aviation and other Business related Laws. He graduated from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and attended Development Lawyer's Course (DLC-7E) at IDLO, Rome. He has been involved as legal counsel and contract negotiator in various development projects funded by various foreign governments, banks and donor agencies. His involvements in various international competitive biddings and major construction projects (hydropower, irrigation, building contracts etc.) executed with foreign investment have given him high exposure in the development law field in Nepal. He has advised various industrial establishments in Nepal as well as companies from India, China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Norway, Austria, Brazil and United States of America. He has been involved in bidding, corporate structuring, due diligence, legal audit, various planning and project execution of several major investments in Nepal, in which he and his team assisted/has been assisting the private developers and also those developed by government and public enterprises.

He has been constantly involved in litigation on taxation and other business law disputes at Supreme Court, Revenue Tribunal and other courts in Nepal. He also has experience in commercial arbitration, including international arbitrations conducted in Nepal.

As a consultant, he had also worked as National Legal Expert for UNDP Project titled "Public-Private Partnership for Urban Environment (PPPUE)", for EU funded projects for Nepal Bar Association (Legal Aid and Conflict Mitigation Projects), co-authored Nepal Chapter in 'Philanthropy and Law in South Asia' published by Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium (APPC), worked for EU and Nepal Bar Association for publication of training manuals for lawyers in Nepal, and has published various articles on taxation, investments and other business law issues. He is also an accredited instructor at National Judicial Academy in business law matters. He has also qualified the "Fast Track Assessment" for Chartered Arbitrator (CIArb) conducted by Chartered Institute of Arbitration (London).

MAHESH KUMAR THAPA
Mr. Mahesh Kumar Thapa, Advocate and Associate Partner at SVLC, holds Masters Degree in commercial Law from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. Practicing since 1993, he attended Development Lawyers Course (DLC-16E) in 1999 at IDLO-Rome. His experiences include pleading, legal drafting, review of documents, advising clients, representing clients in negotiation and arbitration, representing foreign investors to set up their units in Nepal and advising them to comply with the local laws and systems. He also has experience with international donor agencies as a legal consultant. He has accomplished assignment for Nepal Law Society funded by DANIDA/GTZ Revenue Administration Support (RAS) Project for impact assessment of new tax laws and to review judicial remedy in revenue laws as well as drafting of new Revenue Tribunal Law. He also edited the Compilation of Revenue Tribunal's decisions published by Revenue Tribunal Kathmandu. He has extensive knowledge and experiences in Hydro Power Laws and practices. His other areas of expertise include Revenue Laws, Labor Laws, Contract Laws, Intellectual Property Laws and Banking Laws.
KRISHNA PRASAD SILWAL
Mr. Krishna Prasad Silwal, an advocate and oldest associate of SVLC, started his career 33 years ago, as an Assistant of Sr. Advocate Sushil Kumar Sinha. He is responsible for keeping records of litigation files and follow up of the litigation issues. His extensive public relation and network has helped the law firm to keep updated on legal developments. He keeps liaison with the clients and updates the progress. His experience in the court procedure and case management has added value to SVLC's performance.
NARYAN NEPAL
Mr. Naryan Nepal, an advocate since 1997 and senior associate in SVLC, holds Master degree in law from Tribhuvan University with specialization in Commercial Law, esp. Revenue Law. He also holds Master degree in Political Science. He is also holds "Notary Public" license issued by Nepal Notary Public Council. He has vast experience in pleadings at the courts and tribunal, legal drafting, advising clients on various Business Law issues.

A professional with good knowledge and skill of legal research, he independently looks after SVLC's City Office at Anam Nagar, Kathmandu.

SURAJ SHRESTHA
Mr. Suraj Shrestha, an advocate and senior associate in SVLC, graduated from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and was granted "Advocate" license by Nepal Bar Council in 1999. He has extensive experience and knowledge of legal drafting, esp. tax related issues and arbitration related matters, and prepares the case file for pleadings. He is responsible to prepare strategy in tax related issues and disputes and for documentations. His experience in drafting complex documents has added to his ability and is a strength to the law firm.
KRISHNA PRASAD POKHAREL
Mr. Krishna Prasad Pokharel, an advocate since 2000 and senior associate in SVLC, graduated from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. His main area of practice involves court litigation, client consultation, legal drafting and legal compliances in corporate issues. He has extensive knowledge and experience in Company Law matters and also spends substantial time in advising and documentation for Foreign Investments. He also had vast knowledge and experience about Press and Media Law in Nepal.
RAJIV SINHA
Mr. Rajiv Sinha, an advocate and associate in SVLC, is a recognized orator and negotiator, keeps liaison and maintains contact and communication with clients and various authorities in Nepal, wherever client's legal issues are involved. He has good argumentation skill and also a social worker. His past experiences working with industries and trading units have given him high exposure and contacts in the business circle in Nepal.
SANTOSH MAHATO
Mr. Santosh Mahato, an advocate and associate in SVLC, graduation from Tribhuwan University and was licensed to practice law as "Advocate" in 2004 by Nepal Bar Council. He mainly focuses in constitutional issues, legal developments at the courts, legal drafting, advising clients on various legal issues. His interest and initiatives in public interest litigation have even created history in constitutional matters in Nepal. He was the petitioner in writ petition based on which the Supreme Court of Nepal declared the Royal Commission on Corruption for investigation and prosecution formed by the then King as unconstitutional.
RAJESHWOR SHRESTHA
Mr. Rajeshwor Shrestha, an advocate and associate in SVLC, holds Master Degree in Business law from Kathmandu School of Law. He has been continuously involved in legal drafting, legal research, review of documents, negotiations, advising clients in various legal aspects of business laws and personnel matters, representing clients in negotiation, advising foreign investors etc. He has also attended various workshop trainings related to intellectual property, legal research and other major areas of business law. His performance in legal audit and due diligence has been highly appreciated.
PRABHAT KARNA
Mr. Prabhat Karna, Licensed to practice law as "Advocate" in 2007 by Nepal Bar Council, looks after the liaison works with the clients and keeps record of review petition filed by the firm at the Inland Revenue Department in tax matters. He also assists Senior Lawyers in the various Legal case matters and while representation at the Court. He has also been permitted by Inland Revenue Department to work as “Tax Assistant”.
MANJU BUDHATHOKI (THAPA)
Mrs. Manju Budhathoki (Thapa), an advocate, holds ‘Advocate’ license issued by Nepal Bar Council in 2004. She is also a Notary Public licensed by Nepal Notary Public Council in 2008. She is involved in preliminary preparation of case documents, drafting, liaison at the Revenue Tribunal and appears before the tribunal in various appeal. She also assists senior lawyers in preparation of case presentation.
SABITA SHAKYA
Ms. Sabita Shakya, is the Administrator of SVLC. She handles entire Administrative and Finance of SVLC. She is also responsible for coordination among firm members and liaison with the clients.
GOVINDA BAHADUR KC
Mr. Govinda Bahadur KC, is a Pleader and a licensed “Tax Assistant”, has been working under Sr. Advocate Sushil Kumar Sinha for last 25 years and also keeps record of all Government Gazette and legal developments. He also coordinates in preparation in legal documentation and preparation for litigations at the courts and tribunal in Nepal.
RAM NATH BANTHA
Mr. Ram Nath Bantha, is an Office/Legal Assistant of SVLC. He is responsible for management of case files and record keeping. He is responsible to update the clients on developments in matters pending at the Courts and Tribunals of Nepal.
KRISHNA HARI PUDASAINI
Mr. Krishna Hari Pudasaini, is an office assistant and responsible for the front-desk of SVLC. He also maintains correspondence and communications records and helps in performing administrative works.
